About

Cross Asset Lens is an independent research blog that interprets global financial markets and macroeconomic developments through a cross-asset perspective. We look at how interest rates, currencies, equities, and the real economy interact, and what those interactions mean for investors.

What we cover

  • Rates & Bonds — Treasury yields, duration risk, and how bond-market pricing feeds into other asset classes.
  • FX — currency moves, dollar risk, hedging costs, and cross-currency funding.
  • Equities — earnings, valuation, sector rotation, and company-level analysis.
  • AI & Infrastructure — the chips, memory, optics, materials, and power behind the AI build-out, and how it is financed.
  • Macro — trade, consumption, and the economic data that shape the market backdrop.

How we approach research

Each article starts from a specific market question. We work through the data, the mechanism behind the move, and the conditions that would prove the view wrong, because a thesis is only useful if you know what would break it. Rather than relying on promotional language, our goal is to present clear facts, thoughtful interpretation, and practical insights that support informed decisions.

Corrections and counter-arguments are welcome. If you spot a factual error or see a market differently, please get in touch.

Who writes Cross Asset Lens

Cross Asset Lens is written by xenoager, a software developer and individual investor based in South Korea. I have spent more than 18 years building software, from digital maps and car-navigation connectivity to education platforms, payment kiosks, and the control apps that run connected fitness equipment. For three years I also ran my own app business, designing, shipping, and operating about fifty Android apps on my own.

I read markets the way I debug systems: find the mechanism, check the data, and ask what would make it fail. Cross Asset Lens is where I work through those questions across rates, currencies, equities, and the AI hardware cycle, starting from published research and market data. The views are my own.
